One of my existing clients came to me initially with a family story which told of her great grandparents running away from Paris to live in London. I discovered they had married after they arrived in London so I was able to get a copy of their marriage certificate which revealed their ages and the names and occupations of their fathers. Amazingly both “runaways” appeared on a website which had international trees on it. As this showed their birth details and their fathers’ names I was able to confirm their identities. I contacted living relations of both families by email (which was very tricky as I speak no French!) and put them in contact with my client. She sent me the photos below showing her recent trip to Paris where she met members of both families. The next trip will be to Corsica where one of the families originated from. I can’t wait to see those photos!!
